LOCKDOWN #2 in UK & how to stay positive and feeling good.

I remember hearing my mate Bozza announce the first lockdown back in March 2020 like it was yesterday. 2020 had held such promise - We had all felt so positive about this perfect numerical year as we all danced about singing & watching the fireworks back in Dec 2019!

But here we all were, 3 months into the year, facing a deadly virus and wondering if we had enough toilet roll….. I decided that the lockdown would be a time for me to cook, read and do all those DIY projects that needed doing -deep down, I accepted that my fitness regime would take a massive hit. I would no longer be teaching my spin class, going to my gym or teaching & moving with my lovely clients.

Zoom? - I recalled the annoying radio adverts and thought that going anywhere near that app would not be for me……how wrong I was.

Teaching my daily Zoom classes to an ever growing group of Ladies was what kept me (and I hope them) sane! I loved the planning, the exercise and most all, I looked forward to our little catch up daily chats. We kept each other going.

Now as we enter another period of gym closures and having to adapt to not seeing friends and loved ones, we need our small on-line communities even more. We also need to keep moving! Exercise helps us all keep sane. Challenging yourself and achieving goals makes you feel strong and positive. Join my Zoom classes on Monday, Wed and Fri and smile, stretch, lift, lunge and sweat - that’s my primary motivation. peace out x

High days and holidays!

Can we eat healthily on holiday & retain the fab bodies we've been working on in the gym for the last 6 months?

Here is my experience...
I'm currently lying on a beach in France. I am nearing the end of a 3 week family road trip holiday driving through one gastronomic town to the next. Not an easy holiday for staying on a healthy diet & defo not easy to exercise properly.
I have done some exercise.....we stayed in an area where we cycled for 4 days and I have used the one piece of kit I brought (I threw a resistance band into my suitcase) and most days (certainly not all) I have found 5 minutes to use it, but it cannot be described as a workout!
Do I feel guilty? Yes, a bit. But I know that spending quality time with my family has made me a lot happier than sweating in the gym alone!

It's good to have a break from routines once in a while to rest and relax.

Does it make me want to workout?! Hell yes!
I'm going to return to training gently. Im not going to kill myself on the first day.
Always be kind to your body.
Look forward to the next holiday. (Just pack a resistance band 😜)
